Auckland Polo Club
The Auckland Polo Club was one of the first polo clubs to be formed in New Zealand. Indeed, early records show that in 1890 Auckland lost the first Savile Cup – the oldest sporting trophy in New Zealand. We have since won the Savile Cup a total of seven times.
The Club is based in Clevedon in Southern Hills of Auckland. Fisher Field, our magnificent home, is set amongst the gum trees on the banks of the Wairoa River. The Club has a full time manager and groundsman during the season (From the months of October through March) and runs polo at least four times a week.
The Auckland Polo Club is affiliated to the New Zealand Polo Association.
The Club has a busy schedule of tournaments throughout the season, the highlight being the New Zealand Polo Open, run each February. This event attracts some of the best players both from New Zealand and overseas and offers magnificent hospitality opportunities for both corporate groups and private individuals.
